How Much Does A Fiberglass Pool Cost In Canada?

After extensive online research and careful consideration, you've settled on a fiberglass pool, but the big question remains - what will it cost and is it feasible for your family's budget? Our comprehensive guide to fiberglass pool prices in Canada is here to provide you with insights and clarity on what to anticipate in terms of costs for a fiberglass pool if you are live in Canada.

It's no secret that determining the cost of a fiberglass pool installation can be quite challenging. The price can vary significantly based on where you are located geographically. Additionally, prices tend to rise annually, and the recent impact of inflation has further affected the cost of fiberglass pools. As we navigate through the aftermath of the Coronavirus pandemic, it's crucial to be aware of these fluctuations in pricing. When conducting your research online, be sure to consult articles that are up-to-date and relevant to your specific location. This will ensure that you have a clearer understanding of the current market trends and pricing factors that may influence the cost of your fiberglass pool project.

This article provides potential pool buyers with a rough price guideline to work from in Ontario, Canada, however many factors affect the final installation price, including;

  • Access for excavation equipment into the pool installation area
  • Size of pool
  • Desired accessories (covers, slides, diving boards, lights etc.)
  • Landscaping size, material and complexity
  • Gas & electrical connections for pool pumps, heaters, sanitizers, lights, etc

So, How Much Is A Fiberglass Pool?

The average cost of installing a fiberglass pool will be somewhere between $70,000 and $130,000 + tax. This price would include a basic patio (300 sq ft or less) and pool equipment (Variable speed pump, cartridge filter, heater, salt system and pool lights.)

Obviously, this pricing can change dramatically if you add additional accessories and features such as water features, automatic pool covers, retaining walls or more complex landscaping and designs. You get the idea!

Breakdown By Pool Size

The size of the pool is probably the biggest factor in price. I think we all know that the larger the pool shell, the more the pool shell will cost, but as the pool gets bigger, so do other project costs such as excavation, the removal and disposal of the excavated materials, and more aggregates will need to be brought in to backfill around the pool, a larger crane may be needed to set the pool into the excavation and as the pool gets bigger so does the patio and landscaping that will surround the pool. All these factors contribute to increased costs as you move toward a larger pool.
